How Valuation Works
Every domain on our platform is assigned a valuation tier based on AI-driven analysis. Our appraisal engine evaluates comparable sales, search volume, keyword relevance, domain length, and AI industry trends.

Buying a Domain
Purchasing a .ai domain is a straightforward, secure process. Here's the step-by-step flow from discovery to ownership.

Once the seller accepts your offer (or you click Buy Now), you're redirected to Escrow.com — a licensed, regulated escrow service. Your funds are held securely until you confirm the domain transfer.
Step 4
Receive the Domain
The seller initiates a registrar-to-registrar transfer (or a push within the same registrar). You'll receive an authorization code and transfer instructions.
Step 5
Confirm & Release
After the domain appears in your registrar account, confirm receipt in your Messages panel. Escrow.com releases the funds to the seller. Done — the domain is yours.

When a buyer makes an offer, you'll receive a notification. Accept, decline, or counter directly from your My Domains dashboard or Messages panel.
Step 4
Escrow Initiated
Once you accept an offer (or a buyer clicks Buy Now), an Escrow.com transaction is created. The buyer funds the escrow — you'll see the status update in real time.
Step 5
Transfer the Domain
After funds are secured in escrow, initiate the domain transfer. Provide the buyer with the auth code or push the domain within your registrar.
Step 6
Get Paid
Once the buyer confirms receipt, Escrow.com releases the funds. Your payout (asking price minus the 12.5% seller commission) is disbursed directly to your registered account by Escrow.com.

Funds Held Securely
Buyer funds are held by Escrow.com — not by us or the seller — until the domain is confirmed transferred.
Dispute Protection
A 72-hour inspection period lets buyers flag issues. Disputes are reviewed by our team and Escrow.com.
Auto-Release
If no dispute is filed within 72 hours of buyer confirmation, funds automatically release to the seller.
Licensed & Regulated
Escrow.com is a government-licensed escrow service, regulated under financial services laws.
Domain Verification
Before a listing goes live, sellers must prove ownership. We support three verification methods:
DNS TXT Record
Add a TXT record (e.g. _aidmverify.yourdomain.ai) with your unique verification token. DNS propagation typically takes minutes.
CNAME Redirect
Point a CNAME record from your domain to our verification endpoint. This also enables optional custom domain redirection.
Email Verification
Receive a 6-digit code at the registrant email address on file for your domain. Quick and registrar-agnostic.
Transfer Process
Once escrow is funded, the seller transfers the domain. There are two common methods:
Registrar-to-Registrar Transfer
The seller provides an authorization code (EPP code). The buyer initiates a transfer at their registrar using this code. Takes 1–5 days.
Intra-Registrar Push
If buyer and seller use the same registrar, the seller can push the domain directly to the buyer's account. Usually instant.
Note: The buyer is responsible for having a registrar account ready. The .ai TLD is managed by Anguilla's NIC; transfers follow standard EPP code procedures.

We use a seller-only commission model. Buyers pay no platform fees — the price you see is the price you pay.
